TRITONA III is a very special boat, custom finished by the craftsmen of MORRIS YACHTS for a knowledgeable, longtime sailor. Every aspect of the design and construction is first class and she has been very well maintained. Her proven Downeast hull and dependable Yanmar diesel will carry new owners through any weather and her interior appointments will make any voyage a delightful, safe and comfortable experience.

HULL

The hull is a single unit, hand laminated, fiberglass molding built of alternating layers of mat and roving, with additional reinforcement in high stress areas. Hand-crafted wood and the most meticulous boatbuilding techniques are used to construct the interior; using varnished Honduras mahogany and formica surfaces in a classic Herreshoff finish. All trim, drawer fronts, and locker doors are solid mahogany. The cabin sole is teak and holly.

DECK

The deck is hand laminated fiberglass with balsa core stiffening and post applied nonskid, used for ease of repair and refurbishing. Exterior teak trim is kept to a minimum for ease of maintenance and is freshly varnished. Stainless steel handrails and a extended bow pulpit provide security in moving along the sidedecks and climbing to the flybridge. The 25# Bruce anchor is mounted on a custom teak bow roller for ease of handling. A Danforth secondary anchor is secured on deck in chocks. Oversized cleats forward, aft and amidships are provided for docklines. Two varnished teak dorade boxes provide ventilation to the head and galley.

COCKPIT

The spacious self-bailing cockpit is well designed for relaxing and line handling. Excellent side lockers and hatches to space below the cockpit afford great storage. A stainless steel ladder leads to the flybridge; which is equipped with two bench seats, with cushions, that flank a centerline helmseat. There is excellent storage under the bench seats and forward of the helm. A bimini protects the flybridge from sun and rain. Double varnished teak doors open to allow freedom of movement from the salon to the cockpit. A fiberglass swim platform makes swimming and dinghy access a breeze. There is an awning that can be erected to provide shade to the cockpit.

ENGINE

TRITONA III is powered by a Yanmar 6LYK-STE developing 260 HP at 3300 RPM's and a Twin Disc MG5050 gear. She cruises comfortably at 13-14 kts with a top speed of 18 kts. At 13 kts, fuel consumption is less than 1 gallon per mile.

Hatches under the mattresses access additional storage as well as access to the bowthruster motor and components. Access to the anchor rode locker is found in the forward bulkhead of the cabin. A hanging locker and additional drawers are found aft of the berths to starboard. Light and ventilation is provided by an overhead hatch and two opening ports. The table has bottle storage and drawers in the forward end for silverware. Aft of the settee to port and the chairs to starboard are end tables which serve as storage lockers.
