"Ursa Nigra" is a beautiful example of the combination of an owner's good taste and Morris craftsmanship resulting in a distinctive owner's original. This boat has been excellently maintained and shows extremely well. Recent upgrades include fresh Awlgrip and all portlights repainted/rebed, new bow roller (2008) and new cushions, new ss water tanks and upgraded fresh water plumbing, radar mounted on companionway swing-out bracket, new GPS at helm, new bookshelf @ nav station, and new bimini with connector to dodger (2006). The current owner absolutely loves the boat, but has decided to move up to a Morris 46.

CONSTRUCTION: Hand laminated hull and deck, end grain balsa cored deck. Hull is blue Awgrip bootstripe and whalestripe are Sky Blue Awlgrip. Deck is white with sand and stainless hardware. Teak cockpit sole.

STEERING: Edson wheel with pedestal guard and compass.

ENGINE: Yanmar 3JH3E diesel (2002); 40hp 3cyl (305hrs); sea water strainer; dual switchable fuel filter; fuel/air separator in vent.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Tri-cabin interior layout with white Formica bulkheads and varnished mahogany trim. Cabin sole is varnished teak and holly; deck prisms in galley and over quarter berth; nine opening portholes with screens (ports rebed 2007) and two large opening hatches with screens. This all contributes to the light airy interior. Arched cabinetry has locker doors decorated with custom carved bird (Shearwater) motif. Salon doors are oval with a large mirror on the V-Berth door. The interior is blue rolled upholstery. Forward cabin v-berth with filler and extra long starboard berth. Dressing seat to port with a hanging locker to starboard. Main Cabin has a settee to poet and a "U" shaped dinette to starboard which converts into a double. The "U" shaped galley is aft to port with a head shower to starboard. Aft cabin has a double quarterberth to port and a large nav. station to starboard with a custom upholstered swivel seat and wet hanging locker.
